Spotted on a walk round the block on Saturday. A nice Native Hop Bush in flower, (Dodonea):

And the first Correa, these have leaves and stems like sandpaper - they must be sweet to eat and thatrs one way of protecting themselves:

We should have more soon.

Thanks all, I was 'playing' when I took these. It was quite breezy, so I was pleased with what I got. They were taken on just the normal macro setting on the FZ, but from about 3 metres back, and using the zoom, deliberately trying to blur the background. The green in the first was our mown bit of 'lawn' way down the hill, behind the bush. It surprised me that the colour ended up merging so evenly and looking like a painted wall!!

I'm surprised - I have the FZ38 and really struggle to get backgrounds out of focus! However, if you're using macro zoom and the background is a way away as in your first shot, then it is still possible. I have to admit that macro zoom is a setting I constantly forget about; I usually stick the zoom on full WA and thrust it almost on top of the target.

ChrisLumix, I'm still learning with the FZ150. For a while I wasn't happy with macro shots, because I was trying to hold the camera too close, as close as I did with the TZ. I love shots on here with the blurry backgrounds and so just thought I'd give it a go, and these were the result :D
