STRANGE POOCH

During a recent walk, my walking buddy and I met a lady leading this very unusual Pooch............A Chinese SHAR-PEI ..........She explained that it was a rare Chinese breed, and was a rescue dog ........after being found almost blind and covered in sores as a result of over-breeding........The dogs are naturally covered in deep wrinkles and folds these(in over breeding) cause excema and cover the eyes causing blindness......RSPCA had paid for a whole series of operations.

Her name is Pearl, and she now visits the homes and of elderly or vunerable people as a therapy dog........her owner is an RSPCA member who agreed to adopt this most difficult of breeds to care for.

Apologies for the quality of this pic...conditions for photography were not good and I only had a few moments after asking about her:

Should I meet Pearl and her owner again, I will take promised shots for Greetings cards or a planned Calendar:
