We had a lovely time at Dudley zoo today.

The weather was brilliant although I had a few problems getting the right settings in some of the very shady area's.

We left to get the bus at 10.30 this morning, then a train and then another bus to get to the zoo and got back home about 7.45 tonight, then I had to knuckle down and get the ferrets out to play and clean them out. Just waiting to put the last one to bed after her play before I can go.
I was pleased to see how much room the animals had in their enclosures at the zoo, and they all looked really happy and healthy.
The squared and triangular wire fencing was difficult to shoot through, but I managed to focus a few shots by throwing the wire out if focus

Here's four shots for starters.

I zoomed in for this shot and then cropped t show off its neck and face.

The otter was shot through the plastic and it was very shady inside the indoor enclosure.
It was hard not to get reflections of other peoples clothes but managed a few which I still have to look through and edit the most suitable ones.

I didn't brighten it up to much as the reflections showed up too much.

This little chap was in a nice tropical indoor enclosure which we could walk around.

Thanks Kobione and Phil.

I was holding the camera as high above my head as I could and was shooting almost blind as the Meerkats were behind a plastic barrier which was about 5 feet high and which is my height lol.
I'll post some more Meerkat ones another time.

Kobione, I think if you visited Dudley zoo again you would be pleasantly surprised, as it has been adapted to give the animals much more space.
There is also a small fair there as you come to the entrance to go out.
