thank you nanny...only wish it had not been raining and I could have got outside.

 

the garden has been madness today. flocks of sparrows and starlings....and so noisy. poor things have looked so bedraggled in the rain..

greedy...your not wrong...three times today they have emptied feeder bowls of bread...and a basin of sultana's .....costing me a fortune. and I am in trouble with brian, all the sun flower seed I feed them over winter have started sprouting between the patio slabs.....oh dear!

I can't feed the birds now I'm living in a flat, I used to where I lived before though. I used to have the same problem with sunflower seed until I started using sunflower hearts, they are more expensive but it does help stop the seed growing between the slabs as birds like Blackbirds and Chaffinches clear them up where they wouldn't if the sunflower seed is in it's husk. There is much less waste as well, I used to find I was sweeping up so many sunflower seeds in with the empty husks.

We had to dismantle the ferret run a few weeks ago as the wood was rotting and it wasn't secure enough for them to go outside, and when we did we had to removed remove corn etc. that was nearly 3ft high from between the paving slabs where the birds had dropped it into the run.

At least your sunflowers would have been pretty and you could have saved the seeds. lol

I did suggest to brian to leave them...but he kinda went purple.

Tell Brian that he could win ......the local.......TALLEST SUNFLOWER .......Competition Annie ;-)
