There is such a poignancy about neglected graveyards and cemeteries ...

I wouldn’t want to think how many times I’ve walked around this one. Over the years I’ve taken a lot of images around the cemetery, but every so often a image catches my eye.

Nice image Paul, I also find abandoned grave yards great for photography. Love the gritty minimalist feel to this one and very poignant that the word Loving stands out and then you are immediately hit by the massive crack which says anything but love, well seen!  We paid a trip to the Sheffield General Cemetery in the height of the summer. This is an abandoned high Victorian graveyard so we shot some infrared which gave it a really spooky feel. I think there's a couple on my website but would love to go back.

I also like to visit old graveyards. I visited some in Fife and they had lots of Skulls and Crossbones on the stones - I thought they were pirate graves, turns out to be just regular graves , just symbols for death.... Not pirates.
