Is it love, or is it war?

We still have literally hundreds of those Stink Bugs around the house, (outside, thank goodness!!!). They have started to collect into little groups, we suspect in the 'love' aspect as species preservation necessitates as our cooler weather moves in. These were just in a sunny spot on some planks:

Then I found this lot congregating under a pipe on our hot water tank:

Sorry, but we've had enough of them - please let it rain, then they might go away!!!

Thanks, all. Annie, we thought they had gone when we had a couple of cooler mornings, but yesterday we had nice sunshine and out they came again!! We were hoping to get rain, but we missed out again. If we sprayed them with the hose I guess they would only disappear for a short time, and we couldn't keep the spraying up for long - our water is down again :D

Phil, honestly, when I say 'hundreds' that is probably an underestimation!!!!!

Yes, Fuzzy, they do if you squash them! They have an 'oily' feel about them, and this is what a bit of our wooden front step looks like, every spot has been left by a squashed bug, and has been there for weeks:
