Advice Needed

Phil

Recommended Posts

The last time I was on a train was in 1976 so it's fair to say I'm a little out of touch.

We have a 5 day break in London booked for July and rather than have the hassle of driving we've decided to go by train. I've scoured the net and am taken aback by the fare prices, has anyone any advice on where to pre-book tickets at the best prices?

Many thanks,

A tight old git!  :innocent:

Don't know about trains Phil, but I do know that the area immediately around The Royal Albert Hall, has a Park and at least three Major Museums ( including the V&A ) within walking distance, with much of the area pedestrianised........whilst we only had five hours to kill whilst our Granddaughter was rehearsing for a Schools choir, you will have bags of time.

We were pleasantly surprised at the quality and cost of food at the V&A dining s area where there is bags of choice.....the Albert Hall caterers ( Rhubarb) also do good food, if a little pricey.

My advice wold be to visit your nearest railway station.....or.....tourist information office.........where you should find all the current deals......other folks may know about searching and booking online.

I always use www.thetrainline.com. It's the best site that I have found.
I print out the one that I want to book and buy my tickets from Coventry station. I get the cheapest open return so I don't have to be on a train at a certain time.
