Don't Just Shoot - Think

Thanks for that BP...........I am a big fan of Digital Rev....especially the.....Cheap Camera Challenges.........there are great lessons to be learned and absorbed.

We can all do something similar by fitting a restrictive lens for a day, perhaps one without zoom, or the very real challenge of a manual focus only mirror lens......frustrating, but fun.

If I do restrict my DSLr I always ensure that I have my very capable all- rounder compact with me in case that .....not- to- be- missed shot appears.......nothing worse than having a short lens on, whilst something exciting is happening 500 yards away.

The ability, to IMAGINE a shot before, or, as you shoot is the key to creative photography.

I too thought that was a bit of an insight,

I would propose our own competition, a couple or three disposable cameras that everyone can have one shot with before passing it on to the next person by post. The results would be quite something I'm sure....or has it been done here already??

Not since I joined it hasn't.

If people are up for it I could get a camera and organise passing it around. Get it back to me and I'll run the negs through Jessops and post the results. Just need one and we'll divide the film by the number of members who fancy a go.

So, maybe time to give it another go eh?

I can only find disposables with 24 shots at the moment, but there are some great websites out there experimenting with disposables :) there are some by people who tied them to public benches and left a note...some of the results are ...a..hmm ...a little disturbing shall we say, so I didnt include that link :hope:
