Solomon's Seal Sawfly Larvae (Phymatocera aterrima), courtesy of a friendly farmer who'd invited me into his garden to photograph the caterpillars on some plants, as he'd seen me crawling around on the floor looking for grasshoppers.

It is a black version. Optically its fine and the focus ring is smooth but the aperture is very very stiff, thing is I'll only every shoot it wide open for the bonkers bokeh so its not a problem.

When are you going to join the vintage shooters brigade Polly?
