The Brick Train

snapped a couple of shots of the brick train on the A66 today I have drove past it many times but managed to grab 10 mins for lunch today so stopped and parked up for a change. I have used a different angle for my OADED pic. Waste not want not.

It will be 20 years old on the 23rd of June so its in great condition still. here are some more boring facts I have just looked up

Commissioned and created in 1997 by David Mach

Modelled on the 1938 record setting 126mph steam locomotive "Mallard"

A total of 185,000 bricks were used in its construction

There are even 20 special 'bat' bricks built in at various places to encourage the nocturnal creatures to use it as their home
