To see the forum hosted pics at their best I have always found it necessary  to click on them  then to click again on Full size option ( bottom right of screen)  and then again on the image  that has the + magnifier on ... It makes a difference !

When an image is uploaded to the forum several thumbnails are generated at various sizes for display purposes, as a result a little compression takes place as can be seen here. The original uploaded image remains untouched and can be seen by clicking through to Full Size, I appreciate that not members actually do.
Images need to be resized because only the file size of an image can be controlled by the software, not the pixel size.

Not wanting to hijack the thread but have a look at the image below and click through to Full Size. It is uploaded at the original pixel size of 3264 x 4896 and a file size of 853kb, there is a marked difference between the full size image and the thumbnail seen when you first enter a topic. Can you imagine what a pain it would be being presented with an image that size in every topic.

I've now reduced the thumbnail size of the image displayed on the topic page to 500px, hopefully this will encourage members to click through to view at full size.

Ah, that explains why there are now pictures of such different sizes. However, that's not necessarily a good thing - can you arrange for Flickr thumbnails to also be reduced in size? At the moment we have a 'little and large' situation (no endorsement of those dreadful "comics" intended ) which means that in multi-picture topics (daily/weekly posts, competitions, etc) you see a vast difference as you scroll down. For competitions that could make quite a difference especially for those who haven't time to click on every post.
