Trying Something Different For Me With Portait

Recommended Posts

For me Paul it works better in mono... Especially if you are looking for an old fashioned ambience ...the colours seem  a little too vibrant and modern to sit well with that light vignette treatment ...for me anyway  ...though  I can imagine that your usual treatment would enhance the colour version and  it would be a very good portrait as usual .:)

Paul whilst I think the edge of the vignette is too strong and needs defining into an oval more than present,  I beleive the head being so tight to the top edge prevents the whole idea from working with this image as my eye is drawn to that wisp of hair at the top - sorry.

I might have done something like this, hope you don't mind, basically I darkened out the dark bits of the vignette...

Now it's lost the old fashioned look and looking more like my style, which is  not a bad thing BUT as it was muted and had low contrast applied it hdoes not have the lovely modelling light in the original afforded by my garden hut location.

So here is the modern version.
