Doing a bit of extra watering in the rose garden area, and saw something move above the pea straw mulch. It's one of those well camouflaged grasshoppers, with the funny eyes:

He moved around a bit and I got his profile, as he stayed there and said 'Go away, this is MY pole'!!:

Thanks, all. Yes Nanny, I usually have the TZ with me whenever I'm out in the garden. These things are so well camouflaged that you only see them when they move as you do something. I would like better pictures and will keep trying, but you just have to grab, when you see.

About 3 inches long, ChroN, no, Blackrox - no stinging or biting - just jumping!! Heather you usually catch them on plant stems or bamboo supports, so that 'wooden' appearance fits in very well!
