Thanks Judy, I couldn't remember where I'd heard the term Manky Mallard from. That link was interesting. There's a very pale female mallard on my local pond.

I was pretty sure I'd got an image of it, from May last year, you can just see a little duckling peeking out from under her. I think this is a case of reduced pigmentation, rather than crossbreeding.

Thanks Kobione, yes I do see a lot a varieties of ducks, but Mallards can be found on most bits of water in the UK, which is what all these 3 are - the first 2 are definite hybrids, the 3rd is some sort of pigment reduction I think

I've no idea what the 2nd cross-bred duck is though..
