Got an alert from Twitter (a fart on so I've got an app now which gets good reviews and even has support for the Apple Watch) today to say there may be a showing around 10pm tonight - so out I went with the camera.
I hate new year so it was a good excuse to not sit about moaning.

There was a slight visible green streak in the sky but it was VERY faint so these have been tweak severely to get anything worth showing - still its mildly interesting and better than just getting lathered...

Much prefer the last edit BP .... fantastic starlights ....

Both times I shot and processed the NL's I've tried to keep the sky as dark as possible, difficult as I live too near urban street light glow. Thing is I've seen loads of shots online recently where the photographers have just let the sky go light but have gained more detail from the Aurora. The last shot is the best i could get from the dark shots I had but next time - there will be one - I'll run the exposure longer and see what I get.
