I   had just washed a crystal decanter,  having relieved it of the contents, ( a rather  fine vintage Port) the evening before with a few friends, when the morning sun  caught it whilst it was  on the draining board ...Aha ... that looked promising I thought ..  so  I placed it on a black granite chopping board  by the window, stood on a kitchen chair, photographed it directly overhead looking down on it with the natural light from the window illuminating it . Cropped it and  cloned out a bit of reflection on the granite, tweaked the  levels   and overlayed a radial harmony gradient  of red orange and purple  in CS6 ... et  voila ...!

Still Life or Abstract? .... Still life  methinks ;)

I like that very much - colour, symmetry, texture and plain, old fashioned creativity all blob together very nicely. Excellent!

I"d like to try something like that myself, but at our end of town we don't have crystal decanters and vintage port. We have weed that can stun a police horse and 3 litre bottles of Frosty Jack that sell for £1.29 at Winkle's Offy.

I suppose I should be thankful it was the scullery maid's  day off  or I might never have been washing the decanter in the first place Korky....;)

Must warn the gardener too in case he comes across that strain of Lancashire weed!  Crikey!   £1.29.....Do Winkles deliver?
