Mondrian Moments

Thanks Tina, I had been looking for similar things yesterday but couldn't find them in Accrington so I went to Blackburn this afternoon, just a quick 90 mins walk around. It was very tempting to clone out the blemishes, screwholes and marks....

Great idea and choice of subject, well done :)

I think #3 is very Mondrianish (Mondrian-esque?). Did you see a series called - something like - Big City, Bright Minds last winter? One of the cities was Paris in the 20s, and Mondrian's studio was featured, which was really something else. There was an exhibition in the Tate  not so long ago, just about his studios:

You can see it in the top picture.

Just to add that in the 1960s, there were quite a lot of Mondrian inspired (mini) dresses around - Mary Quant designed some. They really looked good with Vidal Sassoon hair styles and white boots :)

Just found an YSL one -

Damn - your image hasn't loaded Judy. And it's just my specialist subject too!!!

It's there for me Chris -  the link is  op-art.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/yves-saint-laurent-mondrian-shift-dress.jpg

inserted in front ......

Both links take me to op-art's website, with a list of picture links down the left hand side, but in the main bit it says "Sorry, page not found".

Weird - the second time I clicked them, the jpg (on its own) loaded fine. Very odd.
