A3 Printer

Recommended Posts

my current epsom printer is starting to play up a little (I think its inhaled a lot of dust since we started knocking down fireplaces etc) So I am looking to get a new one and wondered if anyone uses an A3 printer that has wi-fi built in and could recommend or advise against any that are on the market at the moment

I won't touch Epsons again. I had three - all printed well, but all died from the 'blocked ink feed' symptom.

Canon use a different system, so I stick with that now, and so far - touch wood - I'm still on the first one.

The Epson 1800 I used had tone binned because of continual blockages. My Canon 9000 has been faultless.

The difference?  The Epson used pigment ink but the Canon uses dye inks and so has no solids to cause blockages. But pigments last longer which is an essential for professionals. Although if you treat dye ink prints on decent paper as you would a watercolour painting there is little to worry about.

Canon also sell pigment ink printers. Just need to check what type of ink is used.

I have an Epson R2000, love it, perfect printing, but it does help to download the paper profile and install them in LR and PS. Epson in Australia will often have great cashback deals .

In the UK Permajet provide bespoke printer/paper profiles free for their papers. Used with a profiled monitor there can be a drastic reduction of wasted ink and paper !!!

Thanks all for the input, havent bought a printer yet as the renovation of the office/snug has taken a bit longer than planned due to a kitchen replacement and some very nice shelving for the snug which only came in pine so had to be stained oak, has taken her indoors many hours to complete but looks fab, just building it in to the end of the room, then some coving flooring and skirting and I can put the room back together and get a new printer :)
