  1. My tomatoes are doing well, they are Sungold cherry tomatoes which are yellow/orange in colour and extremely sweet. They will stay in my conservatory for a bit longer before I put them outside on the patio as usual when things warm up. It's still chilly at night and a frost is still possible. Panasonic DMC-TZ3.

    Oxalis.

Polly... I got the original plant when walking in Pembrokeshire years ago, I just dug a bit up using my swiss army knife as I had no other tools with me at the time. I had a plastic bag in my small rucksack so I put the plant in there with some damp moss as I wasn't going home for a couple more days. I planted it in the garden of my previous home and it survived and did well. When I moved to my present home I brought a bit with me, it soon spreads and I had to really reduce it last autumn and start again, what's left has just started flowering again.
  3. One of my favourite wild flowers, I have them in my garden.

    Great set Paul... well captured!
  5. One from my garden. Panasonic DMC-FZ2000.
  6. That's a great capture... It does look very much like a Monarch!
  7. In my area Brimstones are usually first to appear closely followed by the Comma and Small Tortoiseshell. There were dozens of Orange Tip around when I took the shot... mostly males!
  8. It's been ages since I picked up my camera and took some shots, so many health issues this year. I did manage a short walk near home a few days ago and took these images. At the moment I can't even imagine walking miles looking for butterflies like I used to. Peacock. Orange Tip (male). Panasonic DMC- FZ2000.

    Hello.

It's been a long time since I visited on the forum... I'm sorry! I have been having bad health issues (not wishing to elaborate), lots of hospital appointments lately but I am slowly getting better now. I can't imagine ever being the man I was before but at 75 years old I guess I can't expect to be. I can't remember when I last went out with my camera but I will try again in a few weeks hopefully. I will try and post something soon even if it will be stuff from my files for a while. Cheers, John.
  10. It might be a Powdered Quaker moth caterpillar (Orthosia gracilis) but I'm really unsure.
  11. Polly... If you used your Panasonic FZ1000 set on iZoom it may increase the zoom from 400m to 800mm in 35mm terms. I'm not absolutely sure about this as I only know that using iZoom on my FZ2000 it increases zoom from 480mm to 960mm in 35mm terms. I leave my FZ2000 set on iZoom all the time. When taking the Jupiter shot I also used exposure compensation set at -2 with ISO set at 3200 and the mono setting and manual focus. A tripod and cable release must be used as well. I hope this helps!
  12. Jupiter looks brilliant tonight. Panasonic DMC-FZ2000.
  13. Taken from my doorstep. Panasonic DMC-FZ2000.
  14. All great captures Paul... No7 is my favourite!
  15. They do Paul... they show themselves in September for 5-6 weeks.
  16. The light was not good when I took these shots, I'm going to try again in better light if possible. I took the shots on the lawn at my friends place, there were hundreds of bees all over the lawn. Panasonic DMC-FZ2000.
  17. I wonder if those things like thorns are for protection... assuming they are not soft of course!
  18. This spider resides in my garden, it can always be found in the same place. Panasonic DMC-FZ2000 ,Raynox DCR-250 Macro Attachment.
  19. Taken in my garden... the poor thing appears to be covered in cob webs. Panasonic DMC-FZ2000 & Marumi DHG Achromat Macro-200(+5) Lens.
  20. Lovely... I don't think I have ever seen them before!
  21. Taken in my garden. Panasonic DMC-FZ2000 & Marumi DHG Achromat Macro-200(+5) Lens.
  22. I had X-Rays on my bad feet yesterday, I guess it be a while before I hear anything. I'm only taking photos at home and not going out much. I dashed out in the garden between the heavy showers and took these shots. I didn't us my Raynox this time, I used a Marumi +5 Close up lens instead. Panasonic DMC-FZ2000 & Marumi DHG Achromat Macro-200(+5) Lens.
  23. Jupiter will be at it's closest to Earth since September 15th 2010 on 21-22 Setember.... 365 million miles... I hope it's a clear!
  24. I gets loads of these large hoverflies in my garden. Panasonic DMC-FZ2000 and Raynox DCR-250 Macro Attachment.
