  1. Pillars Of Eternity 2 is out for the RPG fans here. Playing my lead character as Ash from the Evil Dead movies. Barbarian with a chopper and boomstick on path of the damned difficulty. Awesome game, got 4 hours kip last night.
  2. Forecast is good/dry Rick. Lovely city, enjoy your stay and happy snapping.

    Nice one Kev, congrats.
  5. Arma 3 king of the hill has been my goto game recently (1700 hours). Really enjoyed Oblivion and Skyrim, started the total conversion mod 'Enderal' three weeks ago as a gap-filler. It's surprisingly good, though I've only played about 30 hours (got into 3D printing.. time sponge). With the release of Pillars of Eternity 2 just around the corner I need to do some re-shuffling. PC gamer since 5 1/4 inch floppys and acoustic couplers. Still addicted, wish my relexes were as good as back then. If you had to chose one, which would be your all-time favourite RyeWolf? Everyone?
  6. Scored 2. My glimmers arn't what they were.
  7. Tin hat on.. 'Clique of friends' was it for me. Once the established membership looses track of what 'forum' means its easy to become a club, and that presents hurdles, real or perceived, to new members. A forum I was involved with zero'd membership post counts each year to encourage input from new members. I'll get my coat.
  8. No Fuji the 'one foot in the grave moment' didn't cross my mind, and not my intent. I know people who are reluctant to expand their listening habits, and encourage them to explore outside of mainstream offerings. I agree there's a lot of junk music which is heavily promoted today, but in fairness it's been the case since the dawn of commercial recording. I don't criticise anyone's listening enjoyment, each to their own.
  9. My collection: 452 albums from 219 artists. I like to think its eclectic but realistically it isn't. No crooners (of the Bing, Como, flavour), no rap, techno, ghetto, etc. I accept there's some music styles I won't embrace. I search out new songs/artists regularly and refuse to get stuck in the rut of listening solely to old favourites. My only gripe is that when I find a new artist/band, the ratio of good to 'meh' tracks they've produced is usually low. Perhaps Fuji you've found your musical 'place' and got a little too comfy?
  10. Graveyard - Apple and the tree Bought 'Innocence & decadence'. Good album. Some obvious influences but makes my toes tap.
  11. The two ladies on the bench really stands out for me, perfect timing. Great shots Fuji.
  12. Thanks BP/Ryewolf. I do intend to get a decent long lens when I can afford it. Unfortunately that isn't soon (Xmas if I'm lucky). Hopefully this lens will be enough of an improvement to get some keepers this year, and as BP mentions, will be a useful walkabout lens once I have the new one. Should arrive early next week, I'll post some pics and thoughts once I've had some play-time with it.
  13. I've been struggling with my Sigma 70-300 APO DG Macro at the long end (on a 550D). Getting wildlife shots sharp/clean enough for moderate cropping has meant F8 and careful choice of lighting/background, often at high ISO. In short I'm spending too much time working around its weaknesses. I bought it for £30 so not heartbroken and I want a lens with image stabilisation. Getting a telephoto with IS and better IQ/sharpness at the long end. Budget = wallet moths... The Tamron 70-300mm VC USD seems popular, ~£260 new (with dubious overseas warranty). Still a lot of money for me when (unsurprisingly) I'd really like a longer lens.. After much brain fatigue I've ordered an EF-S 55-250mm IS STM (good reviews). My reasoning being that I need the IS and IQ but will need to get a closer to some subjects. Less restrictive than my current situation? Next is the price, £108 (with same dubious warranty). Money saved here will go towards a longer lens in the too-distant future. From reading and pixel comparisons this lens gives the Tamron a run for its money at equivalent focal lengths. I'm not going to move to a full-frame, did I do the right thing? is bob-a-job still a thing? I kept my woggle!
  14. Emiliana Torrini performing two of her songs, 'Animal Games' and 'Autumn Sun' for La Blogotheque's Take Away Shows
  15. Sorry folks, suspect I fumbled with the text colour somehow while posting. PS. I was given one (hence suggestion). It died after re-potting sadly.
  16. Hard to know what to say.
  17. Bromeliad. Vriesea hybrid?
  18. Hi folks. I'm a fumbling clicker who's dabbled with film many moons ago. Bought a s/h dslr recently in the hope of getting competent with it. I've much learning to do! Thanks for having me on-board. I've seen many wonderful photo's posted on the forum. Chris.
