The Mono processing is so over the top

Which is probably why I like it so much, I could almost take a razor to my screen to give him a shave its so sharp and gritty.  Nice one

What process did you use.

Thank you Fuji.

Thank you Paul, it is indeed over the top and I'm still not sure if I want to take it back a bit.

The process is the usual one I use, raw conversion in Capture One CO8 to get as much detail as possible then sent as a 16 bit Tiff to Perfect Photo Suit 8 for the rest.

Thank you Karen

I like it Paul though it is just a bit too much for my taste and I would like to see it taken back a bit but thats just my opinion.

As I mentioned to Fuji the one thing I dont like too much with this level of processing is how it wrecks the subjects teeth and makes them look bad.

Obviously you wouldnt want pearly whites but I wonder if cleaning them up a tad would be better, maybe not but just my thoughts.

Still like it though Paul.

Ron

Thanks for the comments Ron  if you now look I have cleaned up the teeth.:)

He looks a character   doesn't he ? I like the processing on this chap ... although I  hadn't seen him before  his trip to the Dentist  so I can't comment on that . ;)  This "warts and all "  process is  certainly appropriate in  lots of cases  especially theatrical  character portraits and it makes a nice change to see people maybe being revealed instead of  the airbrushing that is done so often  nowadays ... There used to be a saying that the camera never lies ....nothing could be further from the truth  it would appear  ... Just as well  sometimes  eh ...  ;)     Nice  one Paul ... you do feel like  a cut throat razor    would be   in his bathroom cabinet !! :smiling:
