One Hour

Recommended Posts

I follow the RSPB and SIBirdClub on twitter and have started to spend an hour each morning watching the birds in the garden.

Yes I know my bird table is a mess but I knocked it up out of scrap wood as a temp measure but the birds don't mind.

Some from the last few days  as I've sat with my coffee and camera

A super set showing the bird table pecking order.......Love the tea cup hanger that's a great idea.
I'm also liking the idea of setting aside 1 hour to sit and take pictures, why I don't do that I have no idea.....its so simple.

The teacup was filled with lard and seeds and I had a twig stuck in it. The birds loved it and it was fun to watch them feeding.

I've never had the time to just sit but recently I've enjoyed it, particularly early on when the world is quieter.

A super snapshot of our feathered friends’ daily routines Beepy .... we never see Starling ever here ... they always remind me of Bovver boys with their belligerent attitudes and you’ve documented this with the latter  images perfectly. The two  collar doves are the complete opposites ... paired for life, they look like an old married couple out visiting a new local cafe with him saying ... just sit there  my dear and I’ll go and get us a cuppa and a tea cake each ...

It’s not that often we see this subject from you ...hope we see more .

I learned something new about collared doves this week - they're not native and even weirder, they only started breeding in the UK in 1955
