This Gentleman posed for me and I wanted to show him in some sort of context.  He is the driver of the train on the Eskdale narrow gauge railway that I've used as a BG.

Very nice context.

I assume that must be the "new" locomotive in the background as it doesn't look like any of the three I remember from the 1970's.

Just looked it up James.  It is the newest locomotive called "Northern Rock (2-6-2)" and was built in 1976.

What a super portrait - I just love how you've incorporated the engine and the steam and smoke and the hint of bridge. Excellent.

From just after I used to go up there. I remember the three rivers, "River Irt", "River Esk" & "River Mite". Always seemed to be River Esk in steam when I was there.

Thanks all for the comments.

According to the WEB site, there are 5 engines overall James, the oldest of which (surprisingly), the River Irt, was made made in 1892 and is still active.
