Out of all the judges, I know two of them placed me 2nd, and 3rd, but their points was not enough to get me higher than 6th overall, but not a bad effort considering, quite pleased, seeing as there were hundreds entered, and I got to the final 12. Paul.

I've had 4 on the TV, two in British Photographic magazines, one in a magazine in Lithuania, and one won a £50 voucher in Round 1 of a 6 round competition, the final results of which will be on Sunday, where 3 further prizes of vouchers from £50 are on offer. Lightroom to adjust, and crop, and then in PS I use levels and curves, contrast and sharpen and noise reduction if required. You could also try Capture One - another very good RAW editor. Version 7 out now. It may be possible to get version 6 free HERE if this coupon page still works. Paul.

They were so impressed by my recent photographs of the toad & mushrooms, that they may want to use one or two in the future or marketing (accredited, they can't pay fees being a charity). Not only that, they have asked if I can do some (gulp) landscapes for them too -looks like I'm gonna have to climb another steep hilled learning curve. Nice of them. I've always said, it's not about the money, but it will be nice if they have some of my stuff up either at the reserve or their website. Paul.

I once went 5 weeks without taking a photo. At sometime, I think everyone seems to have a sabbatical which just "happens". The mojo comes back, usually suddenly. Try to be different. Put on a 50mm lens and shoot everything at f/1.8 and nothing else. While you're at it, try and see a black and white image at the same time and then make it happen, either by shooting in jpg in camera or converting in software. Oh, and go somewhere different. A new location will give you new ideas. Paul.
