    CAPTIVATED

Thank you Fogey……… ..it took about six tries to get it right… James ……The three pigeons were part of a significant flock that were surrounding the fascinated boy, and passer’s by…. ..the main flock had just been walked through by a family pushing a child buggy, so had parted like the tide, seconds later they were back…..these three are keeping an eye on the action, or avoiding being trodden on, so they’ve hopped up onto the plinth…. CAPTIVATED

A photographer pal and I enjoyed just our second …Street…..outing for almost two years…. This time it was Coventry City Centre, a City of Culture, currently. This is my favourite shot, of the day , I observed my subject for a while, his interaction with a whole flock of very persistent feral pigeons was intense, he was captivated by them; in a world of his own. The sun was exceptionally bright, I like wide open shots in preference to being darker…so my focus has to be spot on my chosen area….. We enjoyed a great day, plus a fabulous lunch in an `Argentinian themed restaurant…… I was shattered and sunburnt by the late afternoon though. FUJI
  4. Just brilliant Paul……you have captured great detail of a bug that used to fascinated me as a very small child….. we had a south facing front door, so sitting on the step was a very pleasant place to be…… The front door had faded, powdery green paint, it being mid WWII… … The green made the bright red spider mites stand out as they ran in and out if the cracks and joins of the panels……. I spent ages just being fascinated by these tiny creatures…. FUJI
  5. An incredible landscape…. Well done Matt. FUJI

    SEVERE PROFILE ?

Thank you both…. polly, since I’ve had my LUMIX GX9 I have used only the dedicated …M-L MONO MODE adjusted in camera to suit my style…. Shooting the highest quality JPEGS. …… Most shots require very little processing all of which done on my iPad Pro…. Using …PIXELMATOR PHOTO….PIXELMATOR …and….DARKROOM ….the latter allows targeted sharpening and adjustments, the first two… have sliders that adjust very finely..plus enhanced resolution… all. Bang up to date. I have an ex pro shooting pal, who uses a LEICA M9 ….there is very little difference between our work as far as post processing goes…he uses Lightroom and Photoshop…. I refer to my set-up as a…Poor Man’s Leica….my lens of choice is a very beautiful, immensely sharp OLYMPUS 45mm- A 1.8….it is never..off camera now. I still use my LUMIX GX8 for all if my colour works, and with my vintage lenses… A tiny SONY RX100 completes my kit…it I’d used on rainy days, because it tucks under my coat collar….. All produce more than excellent results… i really appreciate your interest. I have self published four Phot-Books of my best work now……I never go out without a camera…. FUJI

    SEVERE PROFILE ?

Enlarge the pic and look very closely…..
  9. This shot had me fooled the first time I opened it on my iPad, and then on my large monitor… I just couldn’t recall pointing my camera at someone with such a severe profile, it would have been invasive and cruel……..it was only after looking closely the reality is revealed ……a trick of the light and the merging with the background create the illusion……..all done in a split second, because I liked the bedding plants being carried. FUJI
  10. Hi, Polly,……… …..A huge thank you. This way of drawing is really beginning to grow on me because it has a very special feeling of permanence about it, yes! It takes time, but, for me, that is good. FUJI
  11. A self portrait straight of the easel….. silver point - gold point- crayon- gouache- graphite. on specially prepared paper.
  12. A silverpoint-Goldpoint-crayon-gouache-graphite …portrait of a friend done on a specially prepared ground….. FUJI

    Leon's Life.

Well done Leon……you have worked very hard to achieve your goals… FUJI
  14. Spotted from the other side of the road, last Sunday….. this very tall dad, struggled to get his boy on to his shoulders…….love the expressions. FUJI
  15. Paul….. You have excelled yourself here….. that is incredible….full marks from me. FUJI
  16. Further to my very serious study of the very old, pre graphite pencil, way of drawing with silver and gold wire, I have ventured deeper into its extremely fascinating history and method…..fascinating stuff. The young Boxer pup you have seen previously as a photographic portrait taken about a year ago now; her proud owners have an enlarged version, pride of place in their lounge. here thdn , is a work in progress preview of a Version using mainly silver or gold wire, with gouache and crayon highlights and graphite of crayon darks. progress is quite slow and methodical, but deeply satisfying…. Being absorbed in creating it, has helped to take my mind off matters in hand. We celebrate the life of my late brother at his funeral on Tuesday next week…. For him….a happy release from years of suffering.
  17. It just had to be……congratulations Stella. FUJI
  18. wow! On two counts … your pic reminded me of this painting I did a couple of years ago now… I fell flat on my face walking through woods very close to our house… dented my 300 mm lens…. … then fell on stairs, breaking both legs very soon afterwards… You take care now…. Keep those lovely cat pics coming please…. I miss my moggy’s so much. FUJI
  19. I have a camera club judge as Photographer pal…..we go on shoots together quite often He slated one of my Street pics recently This week it was chosen by our Local Arts Festival to be on display in town…. FUJI
  20. WOW! That is one WINNER of a photograph…. …a must for the Greetings Card …market surely ?.. love it! FUJI
  21. I once placed a trail of jam down a post, it attracted two lines of ants ….those collecting then taking the sugars to their nest ..the others returning for more…I recall I mange’s a few decent ant studies… These are beautifully detailed…. Robot-like …. Even ? FUJI
  22. More incredible detail….. ….Congratulations Paul. FUJI
  23. A huge thank you Hatter…. .. I find that …Silverpoint….is very relaxing and therapeutic… FUJI
