    Pointers?

They look good Paul, but unfortunately I have 2 kids, a classic car, a nasty motorcycle addiction and a photography hobby :-) I saw the adobe stuff mentioned and did wonder about it, if its worth a look I shall then, Thanks Korky

    Pointers?

I finally was forced to capitulate and buy a new computer today :-( but while in the shop I spied a copy of Lightroom 5, so I accidentally bought it. Is there anyone people can recommend from the myriad of tutorials out there? this computer will play you tube (and is quick enough for flickr to work!!!) Thanks

    Help Needed!

I could ask the SPECTRUM rep at work (LGBT group thats part of the union), if it might help?
  7. Yep, first is his "selfie", I was really impressed with the kite shot :-) He has loads of wierd shots of his own feet and all the rest of that too, but he has flashes of inspiration - the viaduct and the kite he came and got the camera from me for the shots. Planning on just keeping it fun and seeing where he goes :-)
  8. Following on from trying to justify a new camers, some pics from my 8 year old photo companion! Any cc would be good, I'm biased - naturally- but think he could be worse :-) Click image to view large Click image to view large Click image to view large Click image to view large Click image to view large
  9. I shall add some in a new thread :-)
  10. Thanks, I need the voice of reason sometimes :-) I may well get the 40D as a second body, it is a very nice thing :-) Thinking on, I have a Fuji S1000f in the back of a cupboard - I'll buy some new batteries for that and let him use it
  11. My youngest, who is 8, loves a camera, and uses mine, under supervision, and gets some good shots. I've seen a Canon 40D, in good condition at a reasonable price. I'm seriously considering buying it as a second body and for use when the weather is less than clement - its a prosumer model so has a bit more weatherproofing. Would also let him take his own pictures - I'd stick the nifty fifty on it for him Think it's a good idea?
  12. Ha-Ha, you may have a point - mine are currently in the boot of the car (with 2 tripods, 1 35mm SLR camera, 2 spare films, a reflector, some go-pro mounts, walking boots and waterproofs). Thinking about it, the reflector is still in its package, and has been in various car boots for about 18 months - best sell it :-)
  13. I seem to have accidentally bought a set of ND filters and a set of soft grads, does anyone have any tips as to a method of carrying them round?
  14. Hello and enjoy - its a good crowd of people :-)
  15. Fortunately I live in an old and draughty sh*thole, so should get away with it! # I use the silica gel packs, and have been fine so far - even the FD film lenses that have been to hell and back (Glastonbury, Womad, Pheonix festival, Newcastle to Turkey on the back of a motorbike etc etc) seem to have survived fungal attack
  16. Looking at those maximum temps, I'm quite happy with our weather, ta muchly! In the barren wastes of Teesside it was 8 celsius and dry today - no need for a jumper :-) (I'm from Newcastle, it needs to be snowing before I wear a coat!!)
  17. Am having really strong hints thrown in my direction by a lad I've known since I was born - his stepdaughter gets married this year and money is tight, it doesn't help that he paid big money for a shit job when he got married and me and my dad made his photos and video from what we'd taken. I've suggested they have a studio shoot and hand out single use cameras. Quite happy to take the camera and have a go, just dont want the pressure
  18. I use mine with a cheap (£3) wide angle holder on a 77mm filter lens with no problem, but I see your problem, having accidentally aquired a Lee filter holder and some Hi-Tech filter (much cheapness all round though!!)
  19. The cheap ND's seem to give a colour cast - have you considered Cokin type of square filters? Having sait that, I might be tempted to try a cheap variable to see of its a viable option
  20. Nice one, although you should probably photoshop a limestone pavement into it ;-)

    TAX MAN

Thats a tad annoying :-) on the plus side, you just reminded me I got a set for xmas and need to play with them some more !
