Hi everyone We have had some lovely landscape and macro flower/insect pictures this week, also some great dr who themed beach pictures but my POTW choice came down to one particular picture. Not only did it take split second timing to capture but its also not a subject matter that the photographer normally shoots and something she has been trying hard to work on, and her persistance has really paid off on this occasion as im sure you will agree So for this weeks POTW i give you Chaffinch by Blackrox and the original thread can be seen here http://www.tipf.co.uk/index.php/topic/1912-chaffinch/

ok a slightly earlier than usual POTW today as im heading out to dinner with my son later ive decided on this image not just because i like it, but because i think its a pretty tough image to do and do well. Firstly its a nature shot and as such cant be posed or retaken again and again till you get it right. Secondly its a swan and the feather detail is shown nicely and the white isnt burnt out.. as someone who has tried again and again to do this with swans i know how hard it can be. Lastly the swan has been caught mid action and the sense of movement and the waves in the water have been caught really well in my opinion. So POTW this week for me is JohnP's Splash Landing well done John ! ive used the 2nd version of the picture in the thread here as John seems to prefer it, but i actually liked either version the original thread can be found here http://www.tipf.co.uk/index.php/topic/1634-splash-landing/#entry12149
