  1. Hi, Beth and welcome to this friendly place. Enjoy!
  2. That's fantastic John! Their decline is a bit similar to our Wedgetailed Eagles that the farmers blame for killing lambs, (in actual fact far more are lost to feral wild dogs), - like your Kites they are carrion feeders and will only kill fresh, if it is incapacitated in some way.
  3. Fuji, if that is 'an enema' then my response is: YUK
  4. Bet you enjoyed your moment, John - I know I would have!
  5. Decided to have a day at home today, to stretch the doggie's legs on a nice walk, and so we can do something active as well, rather than another 7 - 8 hours in the car. Probably go tomorrow for the camper. Denis, this particular vehicle has never been a problem since we got it. The only thing is that most ' rural based local' mechanics take one look and pale at the sight. It has a 4.2 litre Ritter motor that was imported, brand new, from the factory in UK by the previous owner. The motor was fitted by a specialist company over here, but not out in the sticks, like we are. David will be having a proper look today, and we'll see how we go, but we'll probably have to wait until the Easter break is over, if we need any parts. Such is life, and that's also the reason we run 3 vehicles, we do need backup in situations like this. Looks like a good gardening day!
  6. Set off in good spirits this morning, with the camper. Drove about 300 klms to where Hubby picked Kelly up from last year. We called in to see the lady who bred them, had a nice chat, left her some lovely photos of Kelly growing up, and headed off again to our destination. THEN - for the very first time - the range Rover let us down!!!!! Something under the bonnet shorted out, causing several noisy backfires, blowing a couple of pipes off, and running rough, almost like it's on gas and petrol at the same time. We pulled in to a stop off spot and this is the only exciting picture I got: Couldn't get things sorted, so we rang the lady back, asked if we could leave the camper there, as we thought we could get home without the extra load on the engine. Sooo, we headed home again - very carefully and cautiously. We had to get the Rangy home to get it fixed in our own time, and especially because, being Good Friday nothing is open, so we couldn't do it on the run!! 600 klms and we didn't even get to see the mountains we were headed for. So be it. I was going to post a couple of shots from our last trip to the camping spot, but now we have to drive another 300 klm tomorrow or Sunday, to pick up the camper, and if we go in one of the other cars we may still be able to go on to get there, even if only for a few hours. Guess what we're both doing, slurp, slurp. PS: the girls were excellent and are now relaxed on our bed. Kelly is saying to hersefl: "Well if that's holidays, I don't think much of it!"
  7. Hi, and welcome, Natasha - you have found a place both friendly and informative - just don't look to me for techno advice!
  8. Yes, well deserved Phil. Great image of a fascinating creature.

    Hi to All

I've just looked too. Sigh - here's another one that's going to make me scared to post anything except 'just for fun'!! Lovely stuff!
  10. Good to see you back, Leon!

    Hi to All

Hi, Pete and welcome. This is a real friendly place where you can learn, join in, and have some fun too!
  12. Thanks, Phil - different singer but that's OK. Only a bit of fun anyway
  13. Had a bit of fun with the songs on profiles, and THANK YOU, BP. We had never heard of The Lancashire Hotpots until I heard your profile song. We have laughed and laughed all day Oh, the accent is sooo like my cousin in Bolton, and the humour is just great!! Love it - we'll be looking for more of their stuff. PS: don't think I've got my profile song right as yet, but I'm trying.
  14. Fuji, you must be going through a really hard time, so sorry!! Don't know that it's going to help things by saying I hope your brother comes to his senses. The smoking addiction can certainly have devastating effects - so glad Hubby gave it up when I was expecting our first child! Good thoughts your way, Fuji, friend.
  15. Love it, I also love the adaptations that show the events from words actually in the original song.
  16. Sounds great. I'll be leaving all of you to co-ordinate and organise this, obviously! I'll be watching developments though, and somebody please bear in mind what I said in the shout - I could at least be a little part of it, if somebody has skype access available at the time - even if not for the whole event
  17. Quite a hard choice again this week. There have been several images that I have considered. Bird photography has been really buzzing, and there were some really good shots, from John, Annie and Blackwolf. Fuzzy's exotic flowers were lovely to look at, and well done. Mark has posted some lovely scenic shots, and Colin's ring side seat really told a story, and came close. In the end I've gone with a picture that, as mentioned in the posts, proves exactly why you should have a camera with you all the time, and also that a shot taken in not the most perfect conditions can result in a 'picture of interest'. Taken by Fuji, his very painting-like 'Scene Through A Wet Bus Window' : Well done, Fuji - your continuing experimentation and spotting of potential subjects is an inspriation. The original thread can be seen here: http://www.tipf.co.uk/index.php/topic/1683-scene-through-a-wet-bus-window/
