Hi Korky, the jellied eel stall is still on the harbour ramp and owned by the same family. I don't remember wacky Woodbines though and the pier is gone, destroyed in a gale. I did have a Walkman though. Happy days.

Thank you all for such a lovely welcome. Colinb, you take me back with your comment about the Golden Garter Saloon in Cliftonville. As a child my parents and I spent some holidays in Cliftonville and sometimes visited this show on the promenade. It was a fun show. The building is still there but it is all closed down and looking very sad. Cliftonville is not the place it used to be. We have recently moved back to this area after 40 years living in Gloucester/Bristol area and also 10 years in Alicante, Spain.

Thank you Polly. Actually, I haven't looked before today but am already enjoying the experience. In Margate Dreamland is still struggling and now has some more financial input to help it survive. I remember going there when I was a kid but haven't been there since. Brenda

Hi from Margate, Kent. I have been working at learning photography for about 4 years now. I am a Nikon girl and shoot mainly macro/close-ups but also enjoy birding and most other genres except portraiture which doesn't interest me at all. I am retired and enjoy walking the dog with a camera either in the countryside or the beach. Besides that I just do regular things like tending the house and garden. I am impressed with the images I have seen posted on this forum and look forward to learning and taking part in the groups.
