  1. Realistically speaking, I think I’ll be ruined within two months. The wife’s about to loose her job in a local hotel, and I think my hours will be cut right back. I’ve just bunged loads of things on eBay for sale so hopefully that’ll help.
  2. Well it’s different I’ll give you that. Interesting use of paint and perspective.
  3. welcome back looks like we're getting a few aircraft spotters on here.
  4. One for the people with Netflix. Tales by light is a program all about pro photographers, all using a different style or genre. I’ve only watched a few episodes, but I’ve found it fascinating so far.
  5. The previous partner lived for soaps and any reality tv like X factor or big brother, which I hate with a passion. I can’t be in the same room as the tv if depression street or depression square is on , I’m sure you can work out which two soaps i refer to I ended up binned her because she wanted to work our life around her soaps meaning we couldn’t go out on certain days. Over one Christmas it kicked off and I’d had enough when the tv got damaged in a flood. You’d think the world had just ended with the fuss she made about not being able to watch her tv lol best Boxing Day in years watching her move out lol When the wife to be first move in with me. I had a tv but only watched football, rallying and the odd film. And really could go most of the week without putting it on. I told her straight from day one about my hatred of soaps and bad tv. We compromised on a few things and she records her Australian soap rubbish watches them without me. Or I sit there with headphones on while I photo edit. This photographer of the year program is ok and is about as close to reality tv as I can take. But I don’t find the standard of photography that high and considering the kit they get to use I’d expect better. We see better images on this forum most days.
  6. So who’s watching Sky arts photographer of the year. I see this year they’re using canon instead of Leica kit.
  7. Just dropping them in fort William on Friday, then picking them up on Sunday in Wales. I’m now staying over Saturday night in Crewe with family. Thanks for the link.
  8. I’ve stuck to using just light room classic. As I didn’t see much difference between the 2, but I did find the newer one a pain to set as my images are still stored on a external hard drive.
  9. At the end of June I’ll be driving a group of people up to Scotland to do the 3 peaks challenge, and picking them up in Wales on Sunday. So instead of driving back to Cambridgeshire I thought about having a little look about this side of the country. After dropping everyone of Friday I’ll be looking to stay over night up there . Anyone want recommend anywhere that side of the country to see and take photos.
  10. I got a 13” MacBook Pro that I use with a external monitor. On paper it specs are lower than my old 2011 13” mbp, which had 16gb of ram. But this new one with 8gb of ram and a SSD really flys. I can’t believe how fast it starts up compared to the old one. Certainly run Lightroom and the NIK software fast as well.
  11. i'm the same as denis, i just dont get the time. but i'll be making an effort.
  12. I’d been interested to know how you get on transferring raw files in batches using the file hub.
  13. I’m good I’ve got a iPad Pro.
  14. I’ll have to google PIXELMATOR PRO as I’ve not heard of that.
  15. It surprises me how its not really been overhauled and updated after all theses years, considering how many people still use it. I’ve got my work flow sorted again on my new Mac book. Lightroom classic and the old Nik software, well if it’s not broken don’t change it.
  16. Don’t think I’ll waste my money, I’ll stick with the old version then. Thanks.
  17. i'm still using the old 2011 nik collection, but i was wondering if there was much differance between the old version to the new. is it worth the upgrade.
  18. I just wish I could get the classic version to work properly. I’ve now managed to get it to work but not the developing part.
  19. ive taken the plunge and brought lightroom cc on my new mac book. but i seem to be having a few problems. i use to use lightroom classic with my images stored on external hard drive, so not to fill up my internal drive. first off lightroom cc wont let me import files from a external hard drive. and every photo i do import goes straight on the cloud and not to my hard drive as well. ive been migrating my lightroom catalog between all 6 different lightrooms editions. i use to like the convenience of being able to get to any of my images and edit them all with the old lightroom, this way i can work off line. On the plan that i'm on its has both lightroom cc and the classic, but when i open the lightroom classic the develope page tells me that i need to pay for it, which i already have. i've also noticed that i can no longer go from lightroom to the NIK software, or am i missing something. i have tried to contact adobe but im not get a lot out of them at the moment. this new lightroom doesnt seem very much like the old software, but more like photoshop. and at the moment not as straight forward to use. i'd be gratful for some help.
  20. i've just got a new mac book pro and just trying to sort my editing software out. i was hoping to carry on using lightroom as i bought a copy with a one off price, so without a monthly subsciption. but im guessing adobe wont let me do that. i've just down loaded topaz studio and had a quick go with it, doesnt seem to bad to use. but i like how lightroom organsized my images as well as the editing side. plus i never been a fan of apple's photos gallery software. any one want recommend some photo organsizing software.
  21. I use to agree, but what you get for your money is not a lot compared to windows. And they’re no longer upgradable. When I went to upgrade my memory from 4gb to 16gb Apple wanted £240 were crucial wanted £60. Slightly off topic I know, but look at the price of this year’s iPad Pro to last year’s. i still like Apples products but not the over inflated prices.
  22. I’ve just come off the dell website, there’s some very good deals on the 17” models.
  23. how do you find using the 2in1 screen for photo editing, is it like using a big tablet.
