  1. Uffington Castle from the Ridgeway. This time it's the Minolta X500. (Is everyone doing mono this month?)
  2. A couple of possibly interesting guest posts on the 35mmc site MY PHOTOGRAPHY IS BETTER THAN YOURS “ARE YOU A PHOTOGRAPHER?”
  3. Memorials to three famous persons associated with Wantage (also three different cameras and film sizes).
  4. It's a dog's life. I think this may well be from the first roll of film I ever shot (1966-67 ish)
  5. I'm not planning it that way at the moment, however I'd be surprised if there aren't a few more. My only planned unifying feature is film -- I'd like to try to use as many of my film cameras as possible.
  6. I'm having problems adding the poll. I've entered the list of names, then click "Edit Topic " at the bottom and it disappears! OK -- I forgot a question title.
  7. Thanks everyone. I think that may be the first time for an image shot on film other than for "Memory Lane" themes.
  8. This week's challenge is "Watercourses" -- Rivers, streams, ditches or canals. Photographs new or old by midnight 26 Jan 2018 please.
  9. A couple of possibles, both large format and both bridges (the first I have posted before). Probably go for #2, mainly because that bridge gets overgrown quite quickly in the spring.
  10. I'll try with a theme (if you can call it that) of "shot on film". I guess my main worry is that for 35mm film the lag can be quite long (particularly at the start and end of the year when mid-week opportunities are basically nil), so how long after the end of the month do you plan keeping submissions open?
  11. Too true. Yesterday, I couldn't get into our local Waitrose car park at 0845! Fortunately I'm near enough to walk if I leave out the heavy stuff none of which was critical.
  12. See Friday's XKCD comic:
  13. Thanks for that, it's the first time I've seen it as it was just before I joined.
  14. The Revolution was Reciprocating A small part of the oldest steam engine still able to do the job for which it was built (keeping the Kennet & Avon canal full of water) now into its third century.
  15. Q: What do you do when a damselfly poses, and you only have a camera with B&W film? A: Take the shot anyway.
  16. From my back garden: Four or five of them swooping up & down the street this afternoon!
