  1. Hello . Nice to see that you have found your way to the welcome forum ... It's a great place to find out how to improve our skills to result in being able to take the photograph we really want to take and have some fun in the process. Welcome aboard!
  2. I'm just 4ft 11 ins so my articulated screen still doesn't get me as high as that above my subjects Phil ... I mean that in a non regal way of course !!
  3. Just an aside Phil ....Were you standing on a chair/ the stairs when you took that shot ....or are you just very, very tall ?
  4. I print a lot of my own images Phil and as you said ....you'd only printed about half a dozen...so you obviously would have noticed a lot earlier had you not been viewing your work mostly on a screen. Yup you need a slapped wrist. ... I 'm quite sad that so few hard copies of our art are being made nowadays. I use an Hp photosmart printer for one off work and V*s*aprint for bulk prints or books of photos.
  5. Loved the simplicity of your entry Phoenix It works brilliantly,,,,Congrats to you
  6. LUMP ...oops crossed in post with you Phil ...SO STRIPES
  7. There certainly were Tina.......I fell in love with the ring in your Photo ...I had hoped it was the prize .... Thanks for cheering ...you and your gang
  8. Here's another close crop..moved the angles around ...cant decide about the screw showing ....
  9. Brilliant set Fuzzy..... A winner again ....
  10. I retrieved the sky in Raw and spent a while working on the wood too , He has a tear in his eye ....I have a big 8.5 MB file if you decide you want it David ....
  11. Ah Fuzzy ...It's good to share ... Wondered where you'd got to .. Well done Ditto to that .... without both sets of members ...we wouldn't have a competition
  12. I had a word with Fuzzy this morning and we have started a new one with an subject we agreed on. ie Silhouettes. I hope we get lots of entries for it ... there are a lot of inspiring silhouette photos around on the net... I 'm looking forward to seeing the entries. Thanks for you comments folks .. appreciated ..Now ... get cracking ...
  13. The Topic for the challenge for week #8 is " SILHOUETTE (S).Entries must have been taken and uploaded between 18th July and Midnight on the 27th July 2015. Please state the date that the image was taken when entering the competition. Silhouette photography I find quite challenging ... the image should be crisp in outline and black in colour against whatever light is used .... A perfect scenario for sunsets obviously but test your creative and innovative juices to challenge yourselves on this one ..even bugs might look great in silhouette ! I suggested this topic to Fuzzy and he told me to "go for it " An interesting article .... I hope it inspires... http://www.digitalcameraworld.com/2012/11/09/silhouette-photography-tips-for-shooting-into-the-sun/
  14. Another Tie eh ... I have been in touch with Fuzzy and we are happy with that and don't feel it really necessary to have another poll over the next 24 hours unless members really feel it should take place . Thank you so much for the votes fellow toggers ..the last thing I won was the egg and spoon race in Primary school in 1956 so... it's been a long wait ... I'm discussing the subject matter with Fuzzy for #8 Weekly Competition and will start a thread for that later today folks ... Meanwhile Congrats to Fuzzy too and thanks Ryewolf for your comment Oh sorry .... and you Dave ...thanks.

  16. Like minds ...etc ...It's probably the main reason I joined this forum ...There are at least some people on here who are interested in sharing the joys of the destination of their choice rather than dissecting whether or not it was the most economic or safest route to it ...if that makes sense
  17. Very professionally done there Dave ... .. I suspect you have more hidden skills with graphics .. and what a kind offer you 've made When word gets around .I think you may be inundated ....
  18. No worries Tina .... if the worst thing to happen in one's life is that there isn't a Poll for a few photos ,......well aren't we just the luckiest of people ... As far as I know it ain't a CAPITAL offence ....
  19. Otherwise we'll have to send you to the naughty step Dave...... Never mind .....**it happens !
  20. I can see you're full of mischief tonight Chris ... Lets call it ... Intuition ..in answer to your question....
  21. Well it's nice to see someone really does win these competitions... one sometimes wonders .... Have a great time .... and take your camera...
