Ponies

The local authority in its unfathomable wisdom has decided that instead of cutting the grass on Cleadon Hills once or twice a year they will put Dartmoor Ponies on it.

There has been quite a lot of opposition as it is a very popular dog walking spot, there are people who are likely to walk up there to cause the ponies harm and its not inconceivable that the local yobs will take pot shots at them with air rifles - but here as you can see we now have ponies. It has been a manky day but for half an hour the sun lit up the sky so I jumped in the car and went for a ten minute play.

Best I could get for now.

To be honest I had forgotten they were there - just arrived this week - and had dashed out to photograph the sunset having had a miserable dull day.

Just about bumped into them as i was taking shots - glad I did now.

I'll take the boys up nest chance I get as the ponies seemed friendly and came over for a sniff.

Thanks

There are three for now and if it works out (meaning they don't get shot, stolen or eaten) then the plan is for three more.

They are essentially wild animals so very hardy and if they don't want to be bothered they just canter (?) off so you never know they might be ok.
