Low sun

I think the layered hills going into the distance look good. I find my eye drawn to the intense light area in the top right of the frame which is a bit distracting. Are the yellows a little flat? The noise in the darker areas could do with some attention? I am enjoying the low level mists. I think this is a very good effort but just not quite there? Just my opinions. :)

i like the strong color and silhouette.  great framing with that line of heavy cloud at the top, it almost seems to mimic the slop of the hill below.

Good timing for the shot  PaulT... ... looks like a nano second away from sun reappearing. The scene has a real air of tranquility  about it .

Love it! And well worth your cold wait to capture this beautiful moment .

Nice one PaulT.

Well worth you getting cold!  :-)

Great image and colours...Gods spotlight at it's best.

Thanks loads for the comments, this image is a real step up for me as I actually really really thought about it and waited (Rather than my normal snap happy see what it looks like when I get home attitude!) Thanks kev for the C+C I do agree with you about the noise.

Cheers,

I know exactly what you mean!

Since I actually started to really think about what I was doing, rather than just generally pointing the camera at stuff and hoping for the best, I've found I've learnt so much more and it's way more satisfying as an outcome!

Again, it is a lovely shot.
