They are very pedestrian, they would rather walk than fly. A habit my old dad made use of many years ago. Some whisky soaked corn place either side of their 'runs' in the hedgerow. Pour some treacle or golden syrup a little further on and return early in the morning and pick up all the sozzled pheasants who had great big balls of matted twigs, mud, grass stuck to their feet so they couldnt walk.

A quick knock on the head and into the pot later that day!Beats shooting them and no noise to attract the gamekeeper!

Lovely image , makes me hungry :w00t:

Oh dear !

This is game food that needs to hang .

It was meat so I'm sure was enjoyed but.....

Once the maggots take hold it tastes so much better :)

True, for the discerning diner it does, but a hungry family whos father earned little it was a means to an end.

I shall not tell about the trout farm and the homemade weedkiller bombs that stunned many dinners that floated gently to the surface on cold dark nights ;)

Desperate times call for desperate measures.......

I'm olde now with no children at home so no one gives a sh@t if they find me starved to death....

Thinking of a none racist follow up to that last sentence but......

Struggling with this :(

Swans have been culled recently by none indigenous populous....!
