Im going to be a bit ....none Fuji like here....I'm usually Mr nice guy, but I must say it....

Currently on this and another much larger Forum there is a surfeit of ROBINS......all looking exactly the same ...just a typical stationary Robin.

Yes, most in focus, most beautifully exposed, photographically perfect, except they are boring.......the one Stand Out shot of a Robin on here, is Annie's recent one that is pulling a face....BRILLIANT!

The same, goes for shots of particular common species butterflies, .......they all look....THE SAME!

For example its a bit like photographers taking dozens of shots of a white cup.....they all look the same....

If it is your first Robin ( or other common subject) you are justly proud and pleased, but to others, it is just another ...one of those..

Could Inshake things up a little, mand that you record your ...Robin....Butterfly....Whit Cup......DOING SOMETHING.......or......LOOKING TOTALLY DIFFERENT,

There! Got it off me chest :-)

FUJI

P S.....Yes, I know, I have been guilty in the past.....but no more Robins or Butterflies from me unless they are ACTING!

I can kind of resonate with what you're saying Fudgem. - in my case it's shots of the moon. We all have to take a moon shot, don't we? But... THE MOON IS THE MOON - it doesn't change!! All the shots look the same, give or take a bit of PP to remove the beige cast.

At least with Mr Robin, there's a variety of settings.

LOL Fuji you seem to have got out of the wrong side of the bed this morning. ;)

One could also put that same analogy to a lot of  genres for example adult cat pictures for instance, nine times out of ten they all have the same facial expession just staring,no happy face no sad face no quizzical face just the same old stare. ;)

Hey I like cats and dogs and seeing images off them just making a point. :)

You obviously haven't seen Grumpy Cat! (It's become an internet meme):

Ha! Ha!

Well done!

Got back at me didn't you?

Fair Point......but look through my Moggie posts, and you will see that our Big Ollie is looking totally different in each one.......if I took a shot of him sitting in the same place, in the same pose, every time.....then, fair enough.

No! Not out of bed on the wrong side, but a genuine observation......honestly, between my two regular photo forums this morning there were at least eight Robin shots all pretty well identical.......A Robin, is a Robin, is a Robin.

I was attempting to give members a nudge ( in a nice FUJI way) to really use their camera's to SEE!

But coming to Herr Lumix's comment re ...Moon Photographs.....I just can't tell him how to make it do anything other than just ...be there shining.

Although.....if you really tried, there are all the different Phases of the moon, never mind recording it in different weather and cloud conditions.....but, I must admit to being left cold by all those......shots of a Full Moon......I have been guilty....once I think?

To re-cap......my Robin/ Butterfly comments stand, because unless they are ....doing something.....they all look the same.

A Peacock Butterfly is a Peacock Butterfly, is a Peacock Butterfly.....oh! And not on Buddlia AGAIN.....Please!
