I pass by these Ferns growing on the top of a high wall almost daily, they grow between the bars of a black iron fence, this shot had been forming in my mind for some time, but I always but the idea on the back burner:

Then, the other day the winter sun was just right, I could see the potential for a selectively sharpened shot that would appear to have real depth...................Some may say I should have cropped, but I like the contrast between the black iron bar wraught by Man and the Fern Fronds wraught by Nature:

The shot was composed...In Camera....so you see what I saw and intended...........To add to the existing tonal depth I used selective Contrast Grading and very carefully targeted sharpening:

I photograph....when viewed LARGE rewards the viewer with a feast of colour, shapes, contrast and depths....a picture to be stared into for a while:
