nothing to do with photography I know... my wonderful wife got me a pear of Sennheiser headphones for Xmas

wow, what a difference, I thought my older JVC ones were good but these just blow me away, the music quality is just epic,

they certainly help with these long miserable winter evenings..

anyone else a big music fan?

I thought my Audio Technica headphones were good until my son bought me my Sennheiser set for a significant birthday, never used anything else since!

I do wonder how much difference there can be between £80 and £500 headphones..... mine are really amazing

other than iphone ones I don't own a pair of headphones

Same here, don't really see the point either. I suppose if you're an avid music listener they may well make sense. I'm happy listening to Radio 2 through my tinny lappy speakers :)

With good headphones you hear parts of your music you have never heard before........

go to tesco or asda where they have display stands, the make your mind up. good headphones bring music to life.... then again if i lived alone i'd turn my bose system to no11 :)

on the two days each week I have to go to visit my current client its 95 miles each way so I get to turn the stereo up to 11 its the land rover premium with alpine speakers and does a fairly good job of hiding my singing lol

Very rarely use headphones. We have a heap of music on computers that we both like, and it plays through a very good sound system. In the car Iisten via mp3 player and David has very kindly just updated my car radio system, so once again - it is good!!!

Yeah true, but it's not just headphones that do that. It was the same back in the 70s when I upgraded to an elliptical stylus, again when I got a new amp, ditto speakers, ditto turntable, ditto decent cables and leads ... and now I'm listening to AAC files on my iMac! (Admittedly it does have a very good sound system for a computer, but even so..)

In my case its the pointy bit on the end of the cantilever, on the cartridge, on the head shell, on the arm on my rather lovely Rega Planar 3 record deck.

Ah, I almost went for the classic RP3 too ... but in the end I  settled for a Pro-ject turntable (more in my budget) and therefore could afford a Denon DL-110 moving coil cartridge. :)

Another Sennheiser fan here, the cr*ppy iphone earbuds got replaced with some of their earbuds a few years ago and I was converted - hoping for some new cans this year as mine have about worn out (not really, but I neeeeeed new ones)
