The End is Nigh - what did you shoot this year?

Recommended Posts

Some great pics in this thread.

I could not help but have a wry smile at the title BP used "The End Is Nigh" as that really summed up my year. :)

You see in late February I was diagnosed with terminal stage four lung cancer I made the decision to not give in and fight it which was followed by long intensive sessions of Chemo, and in August my oncologist told me I was cancer free and in remission, he described it as phenomenal and at the moment it is still that way. :)

So I make no apologies for all my favourites being of my Grandchildren in my garden in the summertime as they and photography were my all consuming passion at the time and helped keep me grounded. :)

What a great ending to the year and such good pictures!

Some lovely shots here, as in many threads.

What did I shoot this year? Lots of things, good and bad - but most of all I kindled a long held enjoyment and enthusiasm for photography and I learnt a lot, about what to do and what not to do.

That'll do for a start, I think. :)

A great idea for a thread BP, and thanks to all in TIPF who unknowingly have helped me become a little better by the vast range of techniques, styles that have gone a way to inspire me a tad !

Have a great 2015 everyone :)

Guess what, all of mine have a French connection.

L'Hôtel des Invalides. This is a special place for me, heaped in the history of the Napoleonic wars.

Paris at night is magic. This one comes onto my list because I had a great time getting to the top of the Eiffel Towering in the evening in the company of my 2 kids. The views are stunning with the city all lit up.

Dome des Invalides. More history resonates through this building than anything I know. The light can be great.

For the same reasons as above.

My kids in Paris. More a memory than anything. I went to Paris alone with these two. they were great company and it was just awesome to see Paris with them both.

A shot from Stage 1 of the Tour de France. Mark Renshaw cleansing is visor with a liquid from his water bottle. I was lucky enough to catch this with the liquid falling to the road.
