Native Flora.....

Recommended Posts

Haven't done much with a camera for the last few weeks, but I did get out recently for a couple of walks with Brian, and guy who is an expert in our native flora. We enjoyed walking and looking for the tiny flowers that you could walk past and never see if it wasn't for their colour. Here are a few I took:

I can't remember the botanical names, but this one is really interesting. It's common name is Early Jane, and each plant has a male and a female flower:

Here is a small group of them:

A Leopard Orchid:

I'll add a few more later. :D

They'd all be Greek to me anyway

Always fascinating to compare what you have on your doorstep with our own.

??????? ???!

Well that's bl00dy stupid.  :wallbash: I inserted Greek characters into the text box just fine. But when I 'Posted' they have all got replaced by ??????.

I think the 'lunch serve' in this one was a bit too big for the top one!!:

And lastly we were lucky enough to be shown a quite rarely seen Spider Orchid:

And that's pretty much all I've done over the last weeks.
