It was my Yvonnes' birthday last Wednesday and she received an orchid plant from the Hotel she works for, thought I would see what I could make of it.

...I think most of you will spot the 'mirrored' half

Very nice image, keeps the eye going from left to right too..

There is one little piece that catches the eye in the central flowers as one appears higher than the other ??

Was it a Mirror?? or Just processing??

great shot not mirrored but photo shopped I reckon as the image is symmetrical not one half being a reflection of the other

Richard - I flipped the picture 'mirror image' in the digital darkroom (don't have a mirror big enough!)

I think I would have cloned out the two "red claws" top centre as my eye keeps being drawn to them and maybe the half buds at the sides Colin? It's always difficult with such images as to where to crop since you end up cutting through something, therefore cloning out unwanted bits is all that is left to remove them.

I like what you've done with the photo - the symmetry helps make it more interesting. It has the feel of a photo that could be used on a book jacket.

Dave I nearly did, but what I didn't want to do was take away or try to hide that it had been 'flipped'

If cloned symmetrically each side (apart from removing the "red claws" at the top) it would still looked "flipped" I think Colin?
