PENDANTS UNSTRUNG

Recommended Posts

Hi, Folks,

One of the huge benefits of having perfect eyesight again after my recent cataract surgery is that I have been able to return to my workshop and sharp tools..................

My woodturning lathe is just one of my specialist machines.............Sooo in-between photography and all my other activities I have begun to turn a whole variety of small gifts:

New to me however is the turning of pendants from exotic hardwoods.....Here are a few of my first samples...photograph taken with my iPad Camera:

The pattern on some of the Pendants are made with a ...Chatter Tool...a short length of springy steel held tightjy in a handle...the colours are from permanent Fabric Pens and the bead inserts from a local Beading Shop.

Only one pendant is strung here....a temporary cord fitted before I purchased a stock of special cords and fastenings.......................all good fun.....Keeps the old brain going ;-)

The iPad hasn't fallen short in showing off your cracking work to it's best effect has it? Those pendants look superb! The only wooden thing I made (apart from an appearance in a Green X Code advert in the 70's) was a coffee table in 1985; I still have it and wouldn't get rid of it.
