WOW!

This IS a surprise, we were there about four years ago and that beautiful Art Deco? Lido was in full use......what has happened?

We stayed in Marazion for three summers holidays, then I bust both legs, havent had a holiday since.

Brilliant photograph by the way.

From what I can gather the storms of last winter gave it a good battering and there was not enough money to repair it.   Now it has 6 foot fencing all around it, a lot of the concrete has broken off and it looks awful.  Such a shame.

"In February 2014 winter storms caused serious damage to the pool, which was already in need of major structural work. As a result of campaigning by The Friends and local councillors a bid for £1.9m to carry out improvements to the Jubilee Pool in Penzance was submitted to the Coastal Communities Fund on the 9th May 2014 by Cornwall Council"

"Dear Matthew

It's a really evocative image- beautifully showing the grandeur yet dilapidation of the building. We'd love to use it in our campaign to save the pool. Would you give us permission to do so?
I look forward to hearing from you.

Martin
