Hi John

Did you see my comment and picture on your related topic, about Witley Court? I'd be really interested in a response, as it's a fascinating place and near you I think?

I'm sorry Chris... with all the walking yesterday and processing the shots today I forgot to reply. I haven't been to Witley Court, now I'm retired and I have lots of time on my hands I'm sure I'll pay a visit in due course.

Well worth it, especially if you like a good ruin. I think English Heritage have stopped the rot, and restored the impressive bronze fountain in the main drive. It also has the best baroque chapel in Britain, still functioning and unaffected by the main house disaster (which itself is a 100% fascinating story - Witley Court was an intact stately home that hosted Edward VII, so its ruination is a modern event that involves so many mysteries that would keep Hitchcock amused...)
