Try blowing a Rasberry......or.........challenge her not to giggle....then wait for the response.

My local grandaughters dislike having their photograohs taken after a negative exoerience with official school Photographs.......the older one, now almost 17 totally refuses, and the 9 yr old copies her.......such a pity because they are both fantastic subjects.....and you all know how much I love taking portraits.

My other grandchildren, who live away from here, respond really positively, we, their parents and other gran have a whole set of up to date portraits via my cameras.

You can take a horse to water, but you cant make it drink.......just like some kids being put in front of a camera....

The cutest kid...vs.....a great camera/lens combination = no joy.......unless you can work some magic ;-)

All very frustrating.

One way with kids under 6 is to shot candids as they play.

The difficulty with Amelia is her MASSIVE MOOD SWINGS!!!

Two seconds after this shot she was giggling and laughing, just the initial stress of someone pointing a camera at her upset her for a second.  Being the ruthless, heartless photographer I am, I took the shot anyway!  I like the shot, even if it does look like an ad for the NSPCC!
