Annie... Hampton Court Palace in Surrey was as you said a pad of Henry V111

 

If you open this link  http://www.hamptoncourt.org.uk/castle  you will see that Hampton Court Castle in Herefordshire is older and has links with Henry 1V

 

I spent most of yesterday there and it was very interesting. I only live 17 miles away and although I've driven past it dozens of times I've only just got around to visiting. Well worth the £10 admission.

 

 I'll post a few shot as and when.
