zebra caterpillars I think

These were all in a web like structure just on one bush and against two of these webs was a snail ? Do snails eat these ?

 

I would have shot the snails but a camera with macro lens, 6ft up and a hardened path mixed together = an expensive repair bill (luckily only the lens, how can you call that lucky)  

Ive waited weeks for a day like today it was alive and what do I do drop the rig, such is life

Two weeks before my lens is repaired  could be three depends on spares

out with the extension tubes and 80 mm lens but now its raining

I give up for a while

That looks spot on paul

I have had trouble finding catterpillars with a web let alone what they grew up to be

Although I havnt seen this moth last year at this site I will be keeping my eyes open in the next month or so now
