I like the effect you have tried to achieve, Paul - just a tad too bright on my screen. If I tip the screen slightly and see a tiny bit more contrast from the background, I like it better!

(Still a lot better than I could do anyway!!)

I agree with KOBIONE in this one Paul........a tad less high key.....or some emphasis to the edges.

By a strange coincidence, I have been drawing and painting our old moggie on the iPad using the..... Procreate......app, my pro graphic artist mate, took me to task about not defining one of my fuzzier efforts with a line here and there, to tie the whole in.

More please Paul.

It may be that Paul has his brightness turned quite low on his computer, like I do on mine? Therefore what would look great on my computer might look too bright on yours?

Well, without any tilting, I can see a bright green, quite dark stem; a mid-toned beige part where it joins the stem; a bright orange pistil; shadow along the top of the flower, and to the right and bottom. In fact, the only part that merges into the background is the part of the petal behind the pistil. As I say, I can see all this without any tilting or movement.

Actually, even at full brightness, I can see most of this.
