Small masked bee, Hylaeus sp

Even on cold windy days, sometimes you can get lucky and find an insect that you don't expect to find. I had to use the onboard flash due to the urgency required to grab this small bee Hylaeus sp, before it flew away, or was carried to the wings on the strong gusting wind this afternoon. The "masked bee" was on the leaf of the variegated bay laurel for less than a minute... I used all 3 extension tubes on the 100mm macro lens for this, and both images are cropped!
