Sometimes not the most photogenic of flowers, but this shot using flash in the geenhouse, seemed to capture the very redness of a common plant:

The colour really stands out against the darker background in this one, Fuji, nicely done.

PS: We are now quite heavily in to Geraniums - they withstand our harsh conditions well, and they don't get eaten by the 'roos!!

lovely photo Fuji, has a 'softness' feel about it .

Thank you Colin, thank you all.

My processing this time was my usual CS6 soft brush and layers method using curves, levels and exposure.......the finishing touches came from a final selective sharpening, then, for me, something new.

A touch of the TOPAZ Clean Up filter, a filter normally used on beauty and glamour work and Portrature, I read in Topaz emails that it can also be used ( very subtly) to enhance flowers and possibly fabrics......

Here I used it very tentatively to keep the sharpness but to give that velvety look to the petals......using my new 45-200 lens helped with the DOF and my macro flash set up darkened an already dark background.

Another of my......composed in the viewfinder creations, so hardly any cropping, keeping the quality as high as possible.
